City isn’t a fan of broken cars sitting on the kerb, as a piece of mail in the mailbox recently said. Then I went to move it and the starter was frozen. Go figure. Girlfriend graciously helped me push start while I kept the key cranked in hoped he car starting would knock it loose. It worked, and the starter works great. Next week I’ll take the car to work and do some next-level mold killing since I haven’t been home enough to dry the Nissan properly.

Possibly the Nova neighbors. The lady of the house gave me the dirtiest look when driving by as I was extracting water from the Miata. Ironic, as their house is this nasty blue monstrosity with the most awful yellow door.

yeah, i only mention it, because it is SELDOM that the code enforcement folks wander through neighborhoods handing out the broken car “awards”. and i have had the police called upon me in the past, and they always hint, that its a specific neighbor with the problem.........then when i show the police current registration, they are usually more than happy to leave............. speaking of which, they are a bit overdue to come by(the truck gets lots of noise complaints)...........
its not about changing what you do, its about knowing that there is someone who doesnt like what you do........

Yeah. The warning wasn’t even about the Sentra. Apparently I had a vehicle up on jackstands for more than a week (which is bullshit. The Miata was on jackstands for five days off and on but it was getting driven), but the paper mentioned I could get bitched at for cars without current registration (and therefore undrivable) and since the Nissan has broken suspension I haven’t tagged it yet and it sits with an expired Ohio temp tag so I preemptively put it in the garage while my dad’s Taurus is in the shop.

We got 9 inches of rain in a two-hour space this weekend. The water was up to the seats in the Sentra and Miata. I managed to get the Buick out of harm’s way before it got that bad.

I got the Miata dried out pretty well, but I was hardly home and the Nissan now smells like ass-stank. Going to have to drive it to work in a week and use some nuclear-level mold-killing solutions on it. On the plus side, the underside is Sooper Clean (tm)

Head to home depot and get a couple of those basement desiccant tubs that you pop the top off and secure them somewhere, that will help.

I’m totally broke until next week, then I’m going to buy a bunch of Simple Green and utterly SOAK the carpets in it, let it sit a few hours, then use a fluid extractor to get it out. Then I’ll try stuff like that and give the whole interior a clean.

I hear ya. Go to a clothing store and steal the desiccants out of the pants. Do what you can to get the moisture out as fast as possible and your job will end up being a lot easier.

once code compliance THINKS that they have found a money maker, they come by to check up on you, and leave $250 reminders every chance they can........
